In 1977, at age 20, he was arrested and wrongly convicted of capital murder, a crime for which he would spend the next two decades on death row.

Since gaining his freedom, Cook has been an outspoken advocate for legal reform. He has lectured at Princeton, Yale, and the University of Chicago, as well as internationally. Kerry Max Cook appeared in the critically acclaimed play “The Exonerated,” based in part on his story. Cook is a charismatic speaker whose previous media appearances include: Nightline* (1999), Geraldo* (2000), Catherine Crier Live* (2002), the Today Show* (2003), and Frontline* (2004). However, the publication of CHASING JUSTICE marks the first time that Cook will talk about his story in its entirety.

Kerry Cook lives outside Dallas, Texas and is the proud father of Kerry Justice “KJ” Cook.
